Why We Built This Site
Indiana presumes public access to court records under its Rules on Access to Court Records, but access still depends on finding the custodian. MyCase indexes many public Jay County cases. The Jay County Clerk keeps the official county file. Circuit and Superior Courts set hearings and enter rulings, while Portland City Court has a separate route for municipal traffic and ordinance matters. Bringing those distinctions together reduces wrong-court searches without replacing any official source.
What You Will Find Here
- Docket guides: local steps for criminal and civil dockets
- Hearing dates: ways to read and confirm the court calendar
- Case lookups: MyCase fields and court filters used in a Jay County case search
- Record requests: Clerk channels, copy fees, and certification choices for court records
What We Cannot Do
This is not an Indiana court, the Jay County Clerk, or another government agency. It cannot retrieve an official file, reset a hearing, amend or seal a record, issue a certified copy, or give legal advice. Contact the court that holds the matter for a binding answer.
Only the Jay County Clerk or issuing court can provide an official or certified docket record. Details shown online may change, so confirm important dates and outcomes at the source.
Search Partners
Some content pages include search tools operated by outside providers. Those providers control their own results, prices, terms, and privacy practices. A paid signup may produce a referral fee that supports this free resource, but partner results are not Jay County court records and should be checked against MyCase or the Clerk.
